With Kota Kinabalu and Surrounding Areas, you move into the city. Here again, you will read about the sights, sounds and experiences that you will encounter, only this time in an urban setting. The book gives a great overview of the things you must not miss as a tourist such as the “kaleidoscope of cultures” and the landmarks and happenings in and around the city.

“Islands in the Sun” then features the pristine islands off the coast of Sabah before moving onto the higher altitudes of Mount Kinabalu that is “Sabah’s Crowning Glory.” For those who love animals, “Where the Wild Things Are” will be of interest. For those who are more adventurous, “Borneo Adventures” will be particularly attractive.

After consulting the book for ideas on what to see and do, Kota Kinabalu and Surrounding Areas would make a wonderful souvenir for tourists to bring home. It is also full of beautiful pictures of scenes in and around Kota Kinabalu, with some photographs taken by the writer and the publisher himself. Kota Kinabalu and Surrounding Areas was published by Opus Publications, an imprint of Natural History Publications and written by Wendy Hutton who specializes in writing on Southeast Asian travel and food.

Book are available for reference at the Sabah State Library Headquarters.
